The third community partner we would like to highlight this month is another nonprofit organization “For the Love of the Lake.” They are one of our Community Service Reciprocal Partners and their volunteers support programs to preserve and enhance White Rock Lake Park. They organize regular clean-up activities, tree planting events and raise money needed to fund improvements to White Rock Lake. In addition to sprucing up the lake, every time a group volunteers to clean, they donate the remaining food and drinks back to our House. Our clients are very fortunate to get to directly benefit from their donations almost every month. We, as a House, wanted to give back to an organization who has given so much to us, thus the reason for our cleanup day on May 19th (see photos below of our fun adventure here).
The Magdalen House staff, Board of Directors, alumnae and our regular visitors pitched in to spruce up the shoreline. Not only did we fill over 15 bags of trash, we had a great time! Thank you to everyone who helped us! We look forward to more community service as we continue in our efforts to make Dallas a stronger community at large.
