Though these detox services are free to our clients, in 2017 it cost our agency $1,053 to provide two-week services for each woman. We are wholly privately funded –accepting no government monies. We rely on investments from donors and foundations. Our budget is also sustainable because of the active, dedicated volunteers composed of both alumnae and neighbors who support our agency. The Magdalen House is committed to transparency and our financial information is accessible on GuideStar. To make a contribution to our recovery community for women, click here.
What Makes Us Free
When you think of a nonprofit, what do you think of? Perhaps you think of an organization that gives back to the community or one that is tax-exempt. The Magdalen House is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization and we are categorized as a “public charity” or “charitable nonprofit” in contrast to a “private foundation” or private company. Not only has The Magdalen House played a vital role in changing the lives of thousands of alcoholic women and their families through the spiritual solution, the services we provide are free. Since our opening in 1987, we have served over 5,000 women through our Social Detox Program and saved the community at large over $2,942,835.
