We are astonished and excited about the incredible increase of women coming through The Magdalen House this year. To say that the Social Detox Program has helped more alcoholic women and their families in the first half of 2019 than ever before in our history is a big statement, but it’s one we’re honored to make.
To get a better picture of the growth, let’s take a historical look at the Social Detox Program numbers. Looking at January – June from 2017 to now, we saw unprecedented growth:
- 2017: 116 admissions
- 2018: 147 admissions
- 2019: 173 admissions
The 26% year over year growth from 2017 to 2018 (for the first six months, alone) was record-breaking, and to continue that growth in 2019 with an 18% increase in admissions is remarkable. We are optimistic that these numbers will continue to increase and we will continue to help more alcoholic women in the second half of 2019. The dream continues to become a reality.
As you read the report below, please keep in mind that with this growth comes needs greater than we could have anticipated. Our House is currently completely FULL, with an ever-growing waitlist. We need women to attend meetings and sponsor our clients. We need volunteers to give their time and talents. We need our community to donate House Needs, meals, and monetary gifts.
