Next Step is our non-residential program, offered both in-person and virtually, to provide women with the tools they need to sustain long-term sobriety and thrive in their recovery. Similar to clinical outpatient treatment, participants receive ongoing care and support from staff and peers, along with weekly requirements that include accountability groups and recovery-based assignments.
An important part of staying recovered is carrying the message. In Next Step, the women receive one on one mentorship and practice to be able to carry the message and give an adequate presentation of Steps 1, 2, and 3 so by the time they graduate they can feel confident to reach newcomers and share a message of hope that they once so desperately needed themselves.
Carolyn Ross, a beloved regular meeting chair was once a nervous Next Step participant in the Mentorship & Shadow Program. She had such a great experience with her mentor, Tina Shuey, and today she can pass on that same experience to her mentees today. Below Carolyn Ross and her mentee, Robyn Feehan, share their experience together in the shadow program.
