No Cost Women’s Alcohol Treatment
HELPING WOMEN FIND HOPE IN SOBRIETY
Our budget is sustainable because of our active, dedicated volunteers composed of both alumnae and community members who support our cause. Our agency could not run without our devoted volunteers chairing meetings, teaching yoga, and providing overnight support for the women in our Social Detox Program. In addition to working directly with the women in the House, volunteers also help keep our house in shape by providing cleaning services and gardening help.
In 2017 alone, volunteers helped add over $340,000 to our bottom line with their generosity and service to others.
The Magdalen House has a wide array of volunteer opportunities that span from working directly with women in our Social Detox Program as sponsors, providing administrative support to staff and helping out with house maintenance. We’re open to volunteers with court-mandated hours, women new to recovery and families looking to give back.
In order to get involved as a community volunteer, please fill out the form below or call 214-764-0793.
- All volunteers must complete mandatory paperwork prior to volunteering.
- All volunteers must schedule their volunteer hours with staff before volunteering.

Peer Recovery Program
Our Peer Recovery Program is based on one simple philosophy: when one person helps another, they help themselves in the process. Studies show that actively helping others get and stay sober is directly related to one’s own success in immunity from drinking. Our Peer Recovery Program exists to support the practice of one alcoholic helping another alcoholic. That being said, our Social Detox alumnae are strongly encouraged to participate in our Peer Recovery Program as soon as they complete their two-week stay.
Our Peer Recovery Program is open to all women in recovery from alcoholism at any point in their recovery.
To join our Peer Recovery Program, any woman in recovery from alcoholism may participate in any of the meetings in our regular meeting schedule at The Magdalen House. In addition, women can become a member of our Magnolia Women’s Group, which focuses on facilitating service work and supporting The Magdalen House through fellowship, events and fundraisers.
For more information, please contact Ainsley David at 214-764-0793.
