1. What do you do at The Magdalen House, and what does a “typical” day look like for you?
I am a Program Coordinator at The Magdalen House, where I serve as the first in-person point of contact for clients and their families seeking help for recovery. I greet each client every morning and ask them how they are feeling. I help facilitate the daily schedule and activities while monitoring clients’ progress.
2. What is your favorite line in the Big Book and why?
“And acceptance is the answer to all my problems today.” Pg 417.
This is my favorite line from my favorite recovery story in the book because it has also proven to be true for me.
3. What’s something you’ve witnessed at The Magdalen House that inspires or moves you?
I am moved daily as I witness clients begin to feel better physically, emotionally, and spiritually.
4. How has working at The Magdalen House impacted your life?
As a client, Maggie’s saved my life. As a volunteer, I witnessed lives and families being saved daily. As a program coordinator, my life is enriched by the work I get to do every day.
5. What are some of your hobbies or things that you enjoy doing when you’re not working?
I enjoy spending time with my friends, cooking, and attending live music events.
5. What is something that we may not know about you?
Early in my career, I was a singer/dancer at Six Flags Over Texas, Astro World, Disney World, and EPCOT Center.
