What does it cost to keep free alcohol recovery services running in Dallas — with no government funding, no insurance requirements, and no cost to the people who need it most? In this episode of RecoverED, The Magdalen House's recovery podcast, Chief Development Officer Susan Overman makes the case for TMH's fully privately funded model and what it means for alcoholics and their families in the Dallas–Fort Worth area.
You don't have to be in recovery to believe in it — and Susan is proof.

Why Private Funding Changes Everything
Most addiction treatment programs depend on government funding — which means government oversight of who they serve, what programs they offer, and how they deliver care. The Magdalen House operates differently. As a 100% privately funded nonprofit, The Magdalen House answers only to its mission and the donors who believe in it. That independence is what allows The Magdalen House to offer truly free alcohol recovery programs in Dallas to anyone who needs them, regardless of insurance status, income, or background.
North Texas Giving Day — Early Giving Opens August 27
North Texas Giving Day is Maggie's second-largest fundraising period of the year. This year's goal is $100,000. Every dollar goes directly to keeping free recovery services available in the Dallas–Fort Worth area.
All donations help provide free alcohol recovery programs and services to alcoholics and their families at absolutely no cost. Give at magdalenhouse.org/donate. Questions about donating or foundation partnerships: susan@magdalenhouse.org.
