Neil Moseley is a partner in The Church Cartographers, helping congregations create new pathways to relevancy in their mission field. Neil learned about church community at Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church in McKinney, TX (when McKinney was still a small town) and at his grandparents’ Southern Baptist churches (especially in Telephone, TX which is still a very small town). Neil currently works with congregations across the country, but loves working with churches close to home (Dallas, TX) which allows for guest preaching & participating in community life.

Prior to The Church Cartographers, Neil was Director of Community Engagement for White Rock UMC and the Owenwood Farm & Neighbor Space (Dallas), which have become models of innovation in urban church revitalization. Before that, Neil worked in more traditional youth, global missions, and adult ministry roles in local churches.

Neil is a cofounder of Union Coffee House, and has loved participating in numerous boards and committees, including: QuadW Foundation – Board Member, Genesis Women’s Shelter – Faith Coalition, Wesley-Rankin Community Center – Strategic Planning Committee, Texas Methodist Foundation’s President’s Advisory Committee, Legacy Church National Team, was a co-facilitator of the Edge Cohort of TMF’s Courageous Leadership Imperative, is currently co-facilitating the C3 East Dallas cohort, and is a congregational guide for Austin Presbyterian Theological Seminary’s Houses of Hope program.

Neil has spoken to numerous groups around the country about the Single Board Model of Church Governance, Ministry Innovation, Community Engagement, Space Sharing, & Strategic Partnerships.

Neil spends most of his time with his better fifteen/sixteenths, Rev. Elizabeth Moseley, and their kids: Nathaniel (11), Evangeline (8 going-on 35), and Josephine (7). Neil likes coffee, birds, live music, new destinations, vinyl records, old baseball cards and first-edition books. Neil’s favorite cards in his collection are a 1909-11 T206 Walter Johnson (portrait) and a 1933 Goudey Mel Ott (portrait), and his favorite authors are John Steinbeck, Nick Hornby, and Kurt Vonnegut.
