Christy Bass was born and raised in Alabama, where she developed a love for math, science, and sports—especially softball. She went on to study at the University of Alabama and Auburn University in Montgomery, preparing for a lifelong career in education. Over the years, Christy served as a teacher, counselor, and principal, dedicating herself to helping students grow and succeed.

Despite her professional accomplishments, Christy reached a point where she struggled to see the beauty in life. Coming to The Magdalen House became a true turning point. It was here that she was reminded that love and kindness still exist, and she discovered a renewed sense of purpose.

Today, Christy finds joy in spending time with people and her dogs, and she is deeply passionate about Maggie’s and the mission of helping others achieve sobriety and sustain recovery. What once felt like her greatest struggles have become her greatest testimony—allowing her to walk alongside others in their own journeys.

Christy shares that while she is proud of her recovery, it was only through God’s grace that healing became possible. She strives to live each day with gratitude, focusing on the beauty in life and the fulfillment that comes from simply doing the next right thing.
