Alcoholism: The Statistics are Staggering

by | Nov 13, 2023 | #Detox, #Free, Alcoholism, Disease, Mental Health

According to data gathered from a survey done by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Service Administration, one in eleven women, one in seven men, and one in nine adults suffer from alcoholism. 1

This staggering data means that there is an estimated population of 657,000 individuals with alcoholism in the DFW area alone, 281,000 women and 376,000 men.

Alcoholism crosses all ethnicities and socioeconomic lines and is a chronic, progressive disease. According to the National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism, individuals with alcoholism face multiple barriers and less than 10% seek treatment.

We strongly believe that every alcoholic woman and man, regardless of their resources or circumstances, deserves the opportunity and has the right to recover from alcoholism.

The staff at The Magdalen House works tirelessly to show women and men that are still suffering that there is hope. When individuals receive education on the disease of alcoholism and are equipped with a solution of recovery, it empowers them to take action to fight for their lives, while inspiring a big change in the entire community.

We will not stop until every alcoholic who needs and wants to get sober has the opportunity to learn about the spiritual solution of recovery that has worked for millions around the world.
