Please join us in celebrating Linda Arsenio, Program Coordinator at The Magdalen House! Linda is inspired by the women she helps as a coordinator in our First Step program and as a Substitute Coordinator for our Next Step program. We are so excited to have her join the team
1. What do you do at The Magdalen House, and what does a “typical” day look like for you?
I am a Program Coordinator for First Step Program and a Substitute Coordinator for Next Step Program at The Magdalen House.
2. What is your favorite line in the Big Book and why?
“We will suddenly realize that God is doing for us what we could not do for ourselves.” Page 84, Big Book of Alcoholics Anonymous
This line is found at the end of The Step 9 Promises which speaks of such beautiful promises like a new freedom and happiness, not having regrets from the past, serenity, peace, uselessness and self-pity disappearing, being of benefit for others and how our whole attitude and outlook upon life will change. Wow! This is the miracle of this program!
3. What’s something you’ve witnessed at The Magdalen House that inspires or moves you?
It inspires me to observe when the light turns on in a client’s eyes. To see the spark, radiant smile, and life come back in a woman’s eyes is truly both humbling and inspiring.
4. How has working at The Magdalen House impacted your life?
I didn’t realize how impacting working at The Magdalen House would be. From keeping me on my toes in my own recovery, to my relationships, staying Spiritually fit, and overall what I think, speak, and do have all been impacted. This has truly been both a humbling and miraculous experience for me. I am so very grateful to God and Maggie’s!
5. What are some of your hobbies, or things that you enjoy doing when you’re not working?
I very much enjoy laughing and spending time with my loved ones that I have been blessed to mend relationships with, play and love on my dog, Rocco. I am an active participant in a couple of meditation groups that feed my soul, help me grow as a human being, expand my consciousness and just an overall ‘showing up’ in all facets of life has been really fun for me. It’s fantastic to be alive again!
6. What’s something that we may not know about you?
I used to live and work in India for several years and I am a total goofball! 🙂
