What is that makes The Magdalen House unique, special and successful? We believe strongly that it is our four points of difference! So, what are they? Our first key to sustainability and success is that we are women-only. Female alcoholics are more likely to face sexual assault and abuse than their male counterparts, thus women specifically, need a safe and loving place to begin their foundation of recovery.2 Secondly, our services are of no cost to our clients. Most women that come to us have depleted finances, have tried getting sober at several other treatment centers and are no longer able to use health insurance.

Another way we are unique is that we have peer implemented services that facilitate mutual benefit; the recovered helping the recovering on a volunteer basis. Studies show that alcoholics who volunteer early on in treatment maintain and even increase their helping behaviors as the length of their sobriety increases.1

Our last point of difference is our comprehensive programming. We have solution-focused classes and meetings to allow any woman at any stage of their recovery the opportunity to practice spiritual principles and sustain long-term, ongoing sobriety.

If you haven’t had the opportunity to visit our house and check out our services, please do! Our doors are open seven days a week and we offer support for both alcoholics and their families.
