a month in a minute
It's that time of year where we get to reveal the incredible impact that YOU – donors, volunteers, partners, and women in our community – have made in the lives of alcoholic women. And, wow, you did something incredible. 🤩

We keep saying we are overwhelmed with gratitude, but that word doesn’t articulate the tears of joy that have been shed, the happy dances we’ve had, and the moments of looking at one another and saying, “this is happening.” Yes, this is really happening. Thank you for making a historic impact in 2019.

We are now closed to the public until further notice, the only exceptions being overnight volunteers, front desk admin, essential staff, Social Detox clients, and new Social Detox intakes.

Taking Precautionary Measures: A Letter From Lisa addresses measures that we are taking in light of the coronavirus. This blog post is being updated in real-time and contains the most up-to-date information.

During this time, we still need your help with House Needs and financial support. We greatly appreciate donations of any kind. You can donate online here, and we are more than happy to pick up any donations you may have at home –  please reach out to Lauren McElroy to arrange: lauren@magdalenhouse.org.
How might you be willing to continue this impact in 2020 and beyond?
Monthly gifts, no matter the size, provide The Magdalen House with consistent, ongoing support to continue our life-saving programs and services. Giving $20 a month for a year can provide 24 women with 12-Step curriculum.

Can you believe the progress?! We are almost six months into construction at 4513 Gaston Avenue, on track to relocate in early 2021.

We need our new house more than ever. Last month, we had 40 admissions to our Social Detox Program
 – the highest on record and 46% more admissions than we had in February of last year.

And we need your help to meet our $3.4M fundraising goal. If you are interested in learning more about how you can help, making an investment or pledge, or introducing us to someone who would want to invest,
please contact Mary Shuford, Capital Campaign Director at mary@magdalenhouse.org.

What an honor it was to pick up our check from Kappa Kappa Gamma alongside Austin Street Center, Family Gateway, Our Friends Place, and other local nonprofits.  Thank you to Kappa Dallas and the gracious Kappa Tablescapes chairs, Anne McPherson, Kim Purnell, and Stacey Walker!

❝ On Saturday night, all of the ladies were sitting around the table, eating a fabulous steak dinner that was donated. They asked me if they could borrow the chairs in the office so that they could all eat together around the kitchen table. So much love!!

Last month, Maggie's Women's Group hosted a cookie decorating party on Valentine's Day for women in our Social Detox Program to spend time with their families, fellowship with other women in recovery, and exchange Galentine's Cards.  ❣️ We can't wait for the next kid-friendly event!
