Witnessing the love and support on Maggie’s Women’s Group Facebook group is absolutely incredible. They’re showing up for virtual meetings. They’re sending sweet notes to women in the house. They’re sponsoring women in the house via Zoom video. They’re helping with donated meals and other house needs. They’re scheduling their own virtual brunches and hangouts. And they showed up in full force at our April Virtual Birthday Night.

And they’ve inspired us to share this thing that they’re doing. We’re calling it #RecoveryStrong.

COVID-19 Cannot Cancel Recovery

While COVID-19 has canceled most things, it cannot cancel community. Or generosity. Or kindness. And it cannot cancel recovery. You – donors, volunteers, advocates, and women in our community – have made this abundantly clear in the last month. We cannot thank you enough.

Because of your love and support, Maggie’s recovery community for women is #RecoveryStrong. In the last month:

  • 24 women have been admitted to our Social Detox Program
  • 29 individuals have donated 36 meals
  • clients in the house have had 28 virtual meetings with their sponsor
  • 40 celebrants “picked-up” chips at Virtual Birthday Night, celebrating with 75+ attendees
  • 1,560 women have attended our 80+ virtual meetings
  • 2 Next Step participants have graduated, and 5 new participants have enrolled

Thank you for continuing to make our “new normal” possible, so that we may continue to help alcoholic women achieve sobriety and sustain recovery.

Help Support North Texas Nonprofits

We very much understand that this is an uncertain time for everyone in our local community, and a lot of people need help. As a response, Communities Foundation of Texas has created the North Texas Giving Tuesday Now emergency campaign to help local nonprofits in the midst of COVID-19.

We ask you to consider how you might be able to help the North Texas community at this time in need. It doesn’t have to be big. But many organizations like The Magdalen House continue to provide services not knowing what the future holds because the community needs us. If you are able to give, we are so grateful.
