Meet our Volunteer of the Month, Vicki Page!
“It’s obvious how passionate Vicki is in everything that she does. She has always taken the initiative to cover meetings at the last minute or fill in wherever we have a need. She consistently overnights and shows up when she commits to something and her positive attitude really rubs off on everyone she interacts with.”
– Kristen Andrus, Lead Intake Coordinator
Vicki + The Magdalen House =
Has donated a total of:
1,496 hours! This is valued at over $44,805 for our organization, meaning Vicki has helped to put 26 women through our First Step program or 55 women through our Next Step program at zero cost!
You can usually find her:
Vicki wears a number of hats at Maggie’s! She is here frequently to overnight and chair meetings, but you can usually find her sitting knee-to-knee with a newcomer.
I’ve never seen her without:
Diet Dr. Pepper and cute shoes! She’s always rockin’ some sweet kicks.
One time she:
Won our Maggie’s Women’s Group Advocate award, which we presented to her virtually because she was helping a friend.
My favorite thing about her is:
Her willingness! Vicki is always willing to help out around the house, either regularly or in a pinch.
The Magdalen House wouldn’t be the same without her because:
Vicki has a wonderful perspective and sense of humor that makes First Step clients feel comfortable and welcome. We are so grateful when Alumnae come back to be here for the newcomer!
Here’s what Nancy has to share about volunteering at Maggie’s!
How do you put “Gratitude in Action?”:
“The greatest gift God has blessed me with is working with other alcoholic women. It is nothing short of a miracle when I watch a woman recover and then turn around and help other women. To have an actual relationship with God through the steps is such a beautiful thing. I’m just so grateful for the life I have today and for Maggie’s! It’s not perfect by any means, however, I know that no matter what comes my way, God is in control. That for me, is freedom!“
