“I am constantly blown away by the people I meet in this fellowship and how much my own life has changed— things truly are so different for all of us in the most amazing ways!”

– Melissa Chiranky-Bozich, Volunteer in recovery since December 10, 2017

If you’ve attended a noon meeting on Tuesday, you probably remember Melissa Chiranky-Bozich! Melissa found The Magdalen House early in her sobriety when her sponsor directed her to visit every day until she had a job. She’s been coming back ever since.

Melissa has been a volunteer for The Magdalen House for three years, serving over 181 hours – which is valued at $4,936, which is enough to put more than 3 women through our Social Detox program! We are so grateful to have her as part of our community!

Melissa’s meetings are every Tuesday at 12:00 pm. View Our Meeting Schedule

1. What is your favorite line in the Big Book, and why?

“Yes, there is a substitute and it is vastly more than that.” – Page 152

I am constantly blown away by the people I meet in this fellowship and how much my own life has changed— things truly are so different for all of us in the most amazing ways! I never thought I would find something I loved as much as alcohol and the substitute I have found is real 🙂

2. What has been the most significant gift to you in your Recovery?

My marriage— the total transformation of my relationship with my husband is beyond anything I could have ever hoped for.

3. What would you say to women who are new to recovery?

KEEP GOING— listen to your sponsor and drop the ego. I don’t know is the best place to be.

4. What is your life like today?

FULL! Incredibly busy but in the best ways. I have great friends, a healthy relationship with my family, I have my own company that helps women all over the US, and a great full-time job. I even have a dog now. Life is truly full of wonderful things that I never thought would happen to me! The coolest part is that I get to help women who were just like me get to this place in their own lives– which is the most incredible thing of all.

5. What are some of your hobbies or things that you enjoy in your free time?

Dance, dance, and more dance 🙂
