Meet our Volunteer of the Month, Nancy McMahon!
“Both of us worked closely with Nancy during the 2021 retreat. She is such a sweet and selfless person who leads with a calm, quiet confidence and that is why people are eager to follow her. Nancy is a forward-thinking, extraordinarily organized, and competent leader. It is clear through her actions that Nancy’s motives are selfless. She is so passionate about the mission of The Magdalen House and it shows through her dedication and generosity”
– Chloe Cramer, Director of Programs and Teresa Hollingsworth, Program Manager
Nancy + The Magdalen House =
Started volunteering:
September 2016
Has donated a total of:
Over 760 hours! This is valued at $22,762 for The Magdalen House, meaning Nancy has helped to put over 15 women through our First Step program at zero cost!
You can usually find her:
Chairing our Tuesday 2:30 pm daytime meeting.
I’ve never seen her without:
One of her amazing spreadsheets!
One time she:
Won our Maggie’s Women’s Group Advocate award, which we presented to her virtually because she was helping a friend.
My favorite thing about her is:
Why she does things – she doesn’t need or want the spotlight, she just wants to be of service and to be helpful.
The Magdalen House wouldn’t be the same without her because:
In addition to all that she’s done as a member of both Maggie’s Women’s Group and our Board of Directors, she has helped to expand the community here at Maggie’s by reaching out to women and encouraging other women that they do the same.
Here’s what Nancy has to share about volunteering at Maggie’s!
How do you put “Gratitude in Action?”:
“Gratitude in Action reminds me of ‘Faith without works is dead.’ Gratitude needs to be followed by action and more action!“
