Meet our Volunteer of the Month, Laurie Evans!
“Laurie first came to The Magdalen House because she was searching for a place to help her alcoholic loved one. After she saw the changes occur in her family member – she began to seek recovery for herself and became involved with our Family Support group. Laurie’s contributions have helped touch hundreds of family members and loved ones which has resulted in significant growth of the support group. Additionally, her advocacy in the community has resulted in many women getting the help they need through our recovery services but more than that, she has made a huge impact on families and loved ones in the community. Laurie, we are so grateful for your time and the important work you do for The Magdalen House!”

Laurie + The Magdalen House = 💚
Has donated a total of:
688 hours which is valued at$18,713!! That’s enough to put TWELVE women through our 14-day Social Detox program! WOW.
You can usually find her:
On our Family Support meetings, every Wednesday night at 6:30 pm!
One time she:
Joined one of our Maggie’s Women’s Group Meet-Ups to share the latest happenings with our Family Support program. We got to see the power of what her recovery journey brings to others. She had tears in her eyes as she spoke about how her life has been significantly changed as a result of working her own recovery program and the joy she gets from helping others do the same. It’s just so beautiful to see how the family members of alcoholics can recover as well.
Our favorite thing about her is:
Her tireless dedication, we can always count on her support!
The Magdalen House wouldn’t be the same without her because:
She has been such a valuable asset to the growth of The Magdalen House and the implementation of virtual meetings for the families and loved ones of alcoholics.
