Meet our Volunteer of the Month, Hope Moore!
“Hope is a genuinely helpful human being. She always asks me if I need anything or if she can help me carry my things in each morning. I recently pulled up to Maggie’s one morning at the same time as her, and as she got out of her car, I watched her stop to pick up trash from the parking lot on her way inside. Those are the moments that need to be recognized. She is helpful even when we haven’t asked. We’re lucky to have volunteers like Hope!”

Hope + The Magdalen House =
Started volunteering:
August 2022
Has donated a total of:
135 hours, or the equivalent of $4,043 for The Magdalen House. Hope has helped us put three women in three months through our First Step program!
You can usually find her:
Every Thursday morning at the Community Assistant desk, meeting with Sponsees in the Community room, or helping with anything we need around the house!
I’ve never seen her without:
A smile on her face.
My favorite thing about her is:
That we can always count on her, and she is reliable.
The Magdalen House wouldn’t be the same without her because:
We need women who show up for other women, and that’s what Hope does. She’s offered rides to ladies, she attends meetings regularly for the newcomer, she engages with the ladies in our programs, she’s available to sponsor, and she is consistent. She puts her gratitude into action by being available to be of service to those in need. That is the essence of our Community and we appreciate her so much!
Here’s what Hope has to share about volunteering at Maggie’s!
How do you put “Gratitude in Action?”:
“Showing your appreciation in the things that I do- practicing these principles in all of my affairs
