Meet our Volunteers of the Month, Carolyn and Floyd Ross!
“Floyd and Carolyn were essential in our transition from Redwood to Gaston. They’re the epitome of selflessness and living on an altruistic plane. We are so blessed to have them on our team and as a part of The Magdalen House family.”
-Teresa Hollingsworth, Program Manager
Carolyn and Floyd + The Magdalen House = 💚
This awesome couple started volunteering:
Carolyn started volunteering in 2019 after she completed our Social Detox program and soon after, Floyd began volunteering as a Family Support Committee member!
Together, they’ve donated:
Over 676 hours which is valued at $19,293!! That’s enough to put more than 19 women through our nonresidential Next Step program! WOW.
You can usually find them:
At The Magdalen House every Wednesday! Carolyn stays overnight with our Social Detox clients, and Floyd attends our Family Support meetings every Wednesday night at 6:30 pm.
Our favorite thing about them is:
The sweet names they have for each other- Buttercup and Nolan!
The Magdalen House wouldn’t be the same without them because:
Not only are they dedicated Overnight and Family Support volunteers, but we couldn’t have transitioned to our new home on Gaston without them! Floyd took off work for an entire week to be here, and Carolyn spent every day getting our pantry and kitchen setup and organized. They even made it a family service commitment by bringing their son to help us put together furniture. They give so freely to others, and it’s because of volunteers like the Ross family that we can help women the way that we do!
Thank you Carolyn and Floyd for being part of The Magdalen House community – we are SO grateful for you both!
