“I received a scholarship of $250 from CLEAN Cause that was a lifesaving gift. It paid my deposit to go into sober living. I had no job or place to go and I am grateful. It was easy to apply for and really lifted a burden.”
– Cynthia Brown, Social Detox Alumna
In honor of Recovery Month, we’re excited to spotlight CLEAN Cause, a beverage company that supports individuals in recovery from alcohol and drug addiction by giving 50% of profits to fund sober living scholarships. With 35% of The Magdalen House Social Detox clients reporting “Sober Living” as where they would be going upon completing their stay, having access to resources like CLEAN Cause scholarships are life changing.
Whether individuals new in recovery have lost jobs, experienced homelessness, or have simply decided that they need more time to build a foundation of recovery before returning home to their families, CLEAN Cause aims to create a sustainable source of funding for individuals in recovery who need a “CLEAN Kickstart.”
CLEAN Cause Sober Living Scholarships
Women come to The Magdalen House to seek help for their alcoholism, and we want to ensure that each woman always has a safe place to call home. With 26% of women coming to our programs without a place to live, and over a third of all clients transitioning into sober living after their stay, we find it’s imperative that we have an organization that women with depleted resources can reach out to for financial assistance.
Thanks to CLEAN Cause, Social Detox clients like Katherine are able to apply for and receive scholarships to move into sober living in a short period of time.
“I am so grateful to CLEAN Cause for the scholarship! I cannot even begin to express how much this means to me. Being at The Magdalen House has been the most enlightening experience, and this scholarship gives me such peace of mind for the next step of my journey. My recovery is the most important in my life. Thank you, thank you, thank you for your kind generosity! This is a blessing beyond belief!”
– Katherine, September 2020 Social Detox Alumna
Making Sober Living Scholarships Accessible and Easy
One of the many things I love about this organization is how simple it is to get help. All you have to do is apply through their scholarship application. Once the application is complete, it doesn’t take long at all for them to get back to individuals. Women in our 14-day Social Detox program have been able to reach out, complete the application, and receive the funds before completing our program.
